I Finally Have My Shoes!!!

It only took me two heartbreaks, hours spent on the phone, and two failed options until I ended up with the PERFECT pair.  I posted before about what kind of shoe I was really hoping for, and today they came in the mail!

But first let me take you back through the journey.

I first fell in love with these, which seem to be an urban myth around the wedding blogs.
Jojus by Nine West
I finally gave up on these after reading post after post saying these were discontinued and no one could find them anywhere.  No one was even selling them after their wedding....it was like they totally disappeared.
After a little more searching I came up with these.
BP Enlightenment available at Nordstrom's
And this is where the hours spent on the phone came in.  One afternoon in Minnesota I sat down and called just about every Nordstroms I could looking for these.  No store was too far, as I was totally willing to pay to have them shipped from California or wherever they might be hiding.  Like I said before though, these just weren't meant to be.
So I started searching eBay for my plan B.  I bought a pair for $5.00 that I knew I probably wasn't going to like, but I figured I'd give it a try, and if worst came to worst I would have a pair of green shoes.
Yeah.  Not a fan.
So two days later I found another pair that were much better, but I still wasn't totally sold on them, but I think it's because I was still set on my first two loves.
But they came in the mail and I really liked them.  They weren't the BP's or the Jojus but they were definitely going to work.  I put the other shoes out of my mind, and concentrated on loving these cuties.
Until a week ago.
I got a message from a user on Weddingbee who saw the ad I posted looking for a pair of BP or Jojus in my size.  She had a pair of the elusive BP's in my exact size!!  And I was even willing to go up or down a 1/2 size to make it work.  Turns out she was supposed to wear them as a bridesmaid, but not all the girls had bought them before they sold out.  So her loss became my gain!  She set up a paypal receipt for me and 3 days later these beauties showed up at my door....
And yes, I realize (as my roommate so lovingly pointed out) that they're pretty much the same as the pair I got on eBay, but I think they're so much better!!  And they're super comfortable!!
So three shoes later and my feet are set to walk down the aisle =]  Now I just have to sell the first two pair.
Did any of you experience problems finding your dream shoes??

  1. Oh my gosh I can't believe you called so many Nordy's to try to find those shoes! :( I am slightly appalled at each of those sales people that you spoke to; any one of them could have looked up the shoe on the computer and could have told you if there were any in the entire country. Shame on them! But, nevertheless, I am glad you got the shoes you wanted! They are sooo pretty, and they were definitely worth the struggle to locate them! :)

  2. I was thinking the same thing Katie was... they can tell you all of the stores in the country that would carry that show and would ship it for free... but you got them and they are soooo cute!

  3. Aww, those are SO cute...I have the same problem, I'm searching for the Nine West Juliarae in turqoise :( No luck. I think the ones you got and love are so much cuter than the others because they're satin, MUCH fancier :)

I just found your blog today, and I'll probably be a regular reader...I'm working on mine, but I'm just starting out :)

  4. Love them! I have green shoes, too (duh, we're twins. Of course I have green shoes.) Mine are from DSW. When ppl hear that I'm wearing green shoes I always get strange looks. Does that happen to you, too?
