I Finally Have My Shoes!!!

It only took me two heartbreaks, hours spent on the phone, and two failed options until I ended up with the PERFECT pair.  I posted before about what kind of shoe I was really hoping for, and today they came in the mail!

But first let me take you back through the journey.

I first fell in love with these, which seem to be an urban myth around the wedding blogs.
Jojus by Nine West
I finally gave up on these after reading post after post saying these were discontinued and no one could find them anywhere.  No one was even selling them after their wedding....it was like they totally disappeared.
After a little more searching I came up with these.
BP Enlightenment available at Nordstrom's
And this is where the hours spent on the phone came in.  One afternoon in Minnesota I sat down and called just about every Nordstroms I could looking for these.  No store was too far, as I was totally willing to pay to have them shipped from California or wherever they might be hiding.  Like I said before though, these just weren't meant to be.
So I started searching eBay for my plan B.  I bought a pair for $5.00 that I knew I probably wasn't going to like, but I figured I'd give it a try, and if worst came to worst I would have a pair of green shoes.
Yeah.  Not a fan.
So two days later I found another pair that were much better, but I still wasn't totally sold on them, but I think it's because I was still set on my first two loves.
But they came in the mail and I really liked them.  They weren't the BP's or the Jojus but they were definitely going to work.  I put the other shoes out of my mind, and concentrated on loving these cuties.
Until a week ago.
I got a message from a user on Weddingbee who saw the ad I posted looking for a pair of BP or Jojus in my size.  She had a pair of the elusive BP's in my exact size!!  And I was even willing to go up or down a 1/2 size to make it work.  Turns out she was supposed to wear them as a bridesmaid, but not all the girls had bought them before they sold out.  So her loss became my gain!  She set up a paypal receipt for me and 3 days later these beauties showed up at my door....
And yes, I realize (as my roommate so lovingly pointed out) that they're pretty much the same as the pair I got on eBay, but I think they're so much better!!  And they're super comfortable!!
So three shoes later and my feet are set to walk down the aisle =]  Now I just have to sell the first two pair.
Did any of you experience problems finding your dream shoes??

Green With Envy....Shoe Envy That Is

I can't help but think of "Pretty Toes" and "Bubble Toes" while getting ready to put this much effort into writing about the gorgeous shoes that will cover my toesies.

When I first got engaged and was on one of many marathon "Google" sessions looking for ideas and pictures of what I'd like, I couldn't help but notice the oh-so-popular trend of colored shoes that we all know and love.  It just makes for some adorable pictures.

Well I decided right away that I just had to have adorable green shoes.  So I started my search.  I came up with some really adorable options, and I would have loved to have any one of them...

Nine West Satin Jojus in Green
BP Enlightment by Nordstrom
.....but I was running into problem after problem trying to buy them!  Either I couldn't figure out the name of the shoe, or they were simply sold out, everywhere.  The Jojus I gave up on quickly after realizing they've been gone for awhile.  Check out any bridal blog and I'm sure you'll see posts by brides "Desperately seeking Green Satin Jojus".
So then I moved onto the BP Enlightment shoe thinking I might get lucky.  I called up Nordstrom's and had them check all the stores.  I was THIS! close to ordering a pair.  The operator said she found a size 7 in one store, and I asked her to look then for an 8 also.  (I wear a 7.5 and I figured an 8 would fit better than a 7)  Well she couldn't find any 8's so when she went back to order my 7's they were nowhere to be found!
So there went that dream.  I went back to searching the internet and ebay and scouring the Classified ads on Weddingbee hoping someone would put up a pair for sale.  I mean they'd only be worn for about 12 hours, my feet don't mind sharing someone else's shoes =]
Have any of you gotten your hopes up for that one perfect item, only to see them come crashing down??
