Okay, so since I've been gone for so long, and I keep promising you guys all sorts of wonderful things, and then continue to fail to produce, I'm going to start off with a bang and show you all my dress!
So if your name happens to be Mr. T and you would like to continue to have no knowledge of what I'll be walking down the aisle in.....definitely don't continue!
Forever ago it seems I shared with you some of the dresses I tried on, but never once did I mention what dress I decided on, and I didn't show you any of the pictures. At first I didn't think I would post any pictures or anything about it, but I know Mr. T will keep his eyes away because he's just as on board with waiting to see me as I come down the aisle as I am.
Then at the beginning of the year after waiting over 6 months, my dress finally came in. It was perfect timing because I was back home in Morris for a couple weeks, so I made the drive down to Champaign to go try it on. I was actually really nervous about it, because I have put on a little weight since I ordered it and I wasn't sure how it was going to fit. I ended up making the trip alone for whatever reason, so I had my consultant take a few pictures.
I'll skip to the good stuff and show you the pictures first.
I ended up getting a Maggie Sottero gown called Mirabella. This ended up being my favorite designer of all the gowns I tried on. The dresses fit so well, and the corset back really sucks everything in. I was able to order it 3" shorter without an additional cost, but it does still need to be hemmed slightly. Other than that it fits perfectly, and because of the back, it will fit as I continue to lose more weight.
The veil on is the one I want to either order, or attempt to make. It's a two layer veil, and I'm kind of liking the idea of wearing the veil forward as I walk down the aisle. I never thought I would, but it just looked so pretty and "bridal" when I pulled it forward.
Under the dress I have a slip to give it some volume. Luckily, I won't have to order one, because my mom still has hers from her wedding and it has been going back and forth between brides, and happens to be the perfect fullness.
So now I just have to figure out jewelry and I'll be good to go. Oh, and p.s. I brought with my hair flower and it looked AWESOME with the dress! Very excited about that. Sorry I forgot to take a picture.
