GIVEAWAY WINNER (Finally!) and an update!

Hey guys...remember me?

Maybe not?

It's been awhile.  So long in fact that I totally forgot to post the winner to my fabulous CSN giveaway!  Yeah...the one I was supposed to announce LAST WEEK!

I'll tell you why in a minute..but for now, how about the winner?
Congratulations Domestic Diva!
I pulled your email from your profile, and sent it to my CSN contact.  She should be emailing you shortly with your online shopping code!

So want to know where I've been?  Any why my recaps have stopped, right after starting?  Don't worry, I'm not going to be one of those people that just leaves and never comes back...promise! I have full intentions of finishing my recaps.
But I got a job!  Now, before you get too excited, it has nothing to do with the degree I just earned.  I haven't even started to look for one of those.
One day though I decided I needed to start getting out of the house, so I pulled up Grand Ave online and started calling some of the shops to see if they were hiring.  It's very similar to our downtown in my hometown, just bigger.  So I was hoping to find something in that same type of atmosphere.
One store I called send to email my resume and a cover letter to the owner's daughter.  She emailed me back about an hour later asking me to come in for an interview that next morning!  I went in and talked to her and an employee and it went really well.  She called me back that night and asked if I could run by the store quickly and talk with the owner (her mother-in-law).  By the time I walked out the door my name was on the schedule and I was coming in the next day for my first day!

So far I've worked almost every day, and will probably be working about 30-35 hours a week.  It's a lot more than I thought, but I'm definitely not saying no to the money, and I love the job!
Check out this website...and just tell me it doesn't make your ovaries hurt =]
It's the cutest baby store set in an old victorian home.  The upstairs bedrooms have been turned into nurseries, and we sell everything from furniture and bedding to strollers, carseats, etc.  Pretty much anything you could ever need.

And the best part?  It's a family run business, so it's the same fun atmosphere that I was used to at home.  Everything there is amazingly nice and have been so helpful in teaching me everything I need to know...and trust me, there's a lot!  I'm going to be so knowledgeable when we have our own babies!  I already have my favorite crib and stroller picked out =]

So anyways, that's what I've been up to.  Oh, and we closed on our 40 acres yesterday!  I promise to stop by soon with more recaps.  I'm going to try and sit down one day and write a bunch up so you don't have to wait so long in between.

  3. Yay job!! Yay closing!! I totally get having all your time eaten up by "life." I never really understood brides when they said that life gets even more busy post-wedding. Now I totally get it! So take your time, we'll be here when you get back :)

  4. So excited for you! I'm about to just start looking for the same type of job because I've had absolutely no luck looking for one using my degree. And your job sounds like more fun anyway! I'm excited for your recaps!
